Following on from part 1 of our Gentleman of the Year 2014, here is part 2, with some more very fine gentlemen on the list.

Benedict-CumberbatchBenedict Cumberbatch

Mr Cumberbatch returns for his 3rd year on our list and this year he flew onto the list with his very proper and formal engagement to his fiancee, Sophie Hunter, via an announcement in the The Times. This traditional and romantic gesture shows the chivalrous gentleman that he is.

Let’s see if he makes it into next year’s list…

steve_harveySteve Harvey

Came onto our radar a bit late, but now he is firmly there. This man has climbed the path to success rung by rung from comedian to TV host and to successful author and talk show fixture.

His love of suits, style and cigars have him high on our list, but what truly makes this man a Gentleman is his sense of humility, his love of family and his never-ending sense of making men more gentlemanly.

christian nockChristian Nock

May not be famous to the whole world, but he is a Gentleman, this former British Soldier raised over £170,ooo for charity by walking the whole length of Great Britain, an 8,000 mile trek. He did it all sleeping rough every night, he did this to highlight the fact that a great many former military personnel end up homeless or sleeping rough.

We salute your gentlemanly efforts.

Keanu ReevesKeanu Reeves

Not only did the movie star turn 50 in 2014, he consistently demonstrated his calm gentlemanly self.

He has displayed etiquette, whilst travelling the subway in New York (yes he travels on public transport) giving up his seat and more. And waited patiently to get into his own party when he wasn’t recognised by the security. He has given millions of his dollars to charity and continues to do so in a quiet and generous way.

The Action Star who is a quiet gentleman.

Hugh-JackmanHugh Jackman

He has appeared on our list again for the second year running, this man is a true gentleman and we are very hard pushed to not have him in our top ten every year.

He is hard working, fun and humble, but what brings him time and time again to the top of our lists is his relationship with his wife. They truly have an undeniable partnership that has stood the test of time (18+years) and the vagaries of Hollywood and celebrity.

And to top it all he can sing, dance and fight – he is a true renaissance man.

Ladies of 2014

Amal Alamuddin

For marrying an actor, a notoriously unstable profession, whilst maintaining a very exceptional career as a barrister in London.

Emma Watson

For her exceptional speech at the UN highlighting the He for She campaign.

The Gentlemen who sadly passed away this year –

James Garner; Oscar de la Renta; Richard Attenborough; Robin Williams; Mickey Rooney; Eli Wallach; Bob Hoskins.
