It happens to have been my birthday last week, it also happens to be the official birthday of The Perfect Gentleman. I am now galloping away into my 4th decade of life and The Perfect Gentleman is just coming out of his birth year. Though both of our outlooks are rosy.
I do like birthdays it gives one a sense of renewal, for me much for than the New Year. You have got through another year and if it was bad, to paraphrase Winston Churchill, you can just keep going; If it was good then you can reflect on a year well spent. I think the last year for both of us was a Good Year, but as the schoolmaster is want to say there is room for improvement.
On my part, I have was given the all clear with my health, first with my Asthma and second with another issue, which I might write about another time. I do realise though I do need to shed a few pounds and get fitter and now that my health is good, I shall be doing just that. I am planning a charity walk for 100km in 30 hours and building up to a 5km run at some point this year. Hopefully with those two goals in my future my weight will drop too!
Another thing I neglected last year was doing something that really challenged me, so this year I am going to learn to play the harmonica, it has been on my wish list for sometime but I now have it on my desk in front of me, so I shall be practicing and annoying the rest of PGHQ as much as I can.
That’s enough about me, really we want to talk about the Perfect Gentleman. I am so proud of this 1st year of ours and though we have taken our time to get our head of steam up we are now motoring along.
This year will bring new and exciting elements, all the PG team are ardent and pretty good cooks and we are really excited to be working with a great chef on our Culinary Gentleman strand and Cookbook.
Talking books, after a little too and fro we are finally in the last stages of launching our book series, which will be out in the next few months with our first title ‘Becoming the Perfect Gentleman’ and then we are currently working on the second title ‘Becoming the Stylish Gentleman’ and there are more after that. We are relaunching our short courses and working on our new events too.
So let’s hope by our 2nd Birthday, we can say we have had a truly great year. Right, I had better go and practice the Harmonica!
Respectfully yours as always,
#1PG
