This is the second half of our selection for our Second Annual Gentlemen of the Year list.
These gentleman are selected by the PG team, not only for their contributions to their fields of expertise but also their actions behind the scenes, their behaviour away from the spotlight and for Gentlemanly acts that we or our friends have spotted.
Andy Murray returns to the list for a second year after becoming the 1st Male Singles Wimbledon Champion since Fred Perry in 2013.
Since the public embraced him last year and following a successful full year on the circuit starting with a Gold Medal and ending with the Wimbledon Championship. He has proved he is a worthy and gentlemanly champion, long may he continue in this vein.
The journey is sometimes the thing, and Andy has been on that journey and to top it off, wins BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
His Championship win even made the stone-faced Ivan Lendl smile, a truly gentlemanly feet.
A young gentleman actor Adrian Lester has had a great career, and this year he was triumphant on the London stage as Othello, for which he received the Best Actor theatre award (along with his co-star Rory Kinnear).
This year he also was awarded OBE and a honorary degree.
Adrian is always a stylish dresser and is the face of the Without Prejudice brand.
Paul Smith – Designer & Businessman
The legend of Men’s Fashion has been at the forefront of British Style for over four decades and responsible for a truly international and successful business.
This year he wrote his first book about himself, had an exhibition at the Design Museum and many more things.
We love his combination of success, style and business savvy and continually working to make British Fashion stand tall around the world – The Perfect Gentlemen team salute you.
The only non-Brit on the list this year, he is a man that is likely to frequently be on this list.
As an actor he strides Blockbuster Movies and RomComs with ease but he is truly talented on Stage and has a pretty darn good voice. Include Charm, Style, Wit, and you could see him taking the lead in anyone of the old MGM musicals.
Martin Freeman – Actor
Another British actor on the list and one who has bestrode both Film and Television this year, with The Hobbit and Sherlock being his highlights.
He has a soft charm and style with a gentle humility that we much admire.
Peter O’Toole – Actor – Posthumous Special Mention
Sadly a lot of people passed away this year, a lot of great people, One that all the PG team mentioned and so did our Social Media followers was the great actor Peter O’Toole.
He was certainly a rakish gentleman, with his love of jokes and his fondness for a tipple but he was a spectacular actor and dapper man about town. #1PG had the pleasure of meeting him once or twice as a young boy and he was charming.
